We all remember the days of the small Bibles being passed around everywhere from bus stops to shopping malls. Some may have been thrown away; others will be cherished for years to come. But the new digital age has provided a new reading experience for those on the go. The new pocket-sized Bible is now downloadable on your mobile device. The “Daily Bible” app allows readers to read a daily verse. It also has areas of devotions. The app is an easy way to read a verse or two while standing in line at the grocery store or while waiting for a meeting to start at work.
This Scripture passage speaks of the importance of reading the Bible: “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work” (2 Tm 3:16–17).
I have been using “Daily Bible” for a few weeks now and I have really enjoyed it. The encouraging words I see daily can make a change in my attitude. The ease of the app allows anyone with a smartphone to read whenever he or she has the opportunity. We all should read the Bible in a consistent manner to hear and spread the word.
