Hardly a Coincidence

Hardly a Coincidence

My oldest son, Dominic, has decided to take a whole new turn in his life. Being young and single and somewhat adventurous, Dominic gave up his teaching position to move halfway across the nation to Texas, a state that no one in my family has ever even visited.

Dominic began his search late last year to find a suitable Texan city. Gathering information from friends, he was referred to a couple of towns that piqued his interest. Over the course of the last few months, he selected one of those towns where a former college buddy just so happens to reside. That friend graciously offered him temporary housing while he settles in. So far, so good, right?

Well, to top off all that good news, exactly one day prior to his departure, Dominic had an early-morning FaceTime interview with school administrators and was offered a teaching position that very afternoon. His new job is within walking distance of his new home!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.
(Rom 8:28)

A friend of mine refers to these coincidences as GOD-incidences. And I completely agree! God, in his infinite goodness, heard our prayers and He worked out all the details. As the old saying goes, we do not know what the future holds, but we know who holds the future.

We will miss Dominic for the occasional pop-in visits and at Sunday family dinners. And we will continue to pray for him as his new adventure has only just begun.

Thanks mom! :) I’m still in shock over how everything ended up playing out! I feel remarkably blessed to be working with such great people, and I hope I become a much stronger teacher as a result of this experience! Thanks for all the prayers!! I really appreciate them! Can’t wait to see everyone again!!
