Are You a Local Faithful Citizen?

Are You a Local Faithful Citizen?

The Presidential election has captured the minds and energies of the nation. We’re readying ourselves to vote, especially as Catholics, this election year.

But let’s not forget that Faithful Citizenship involves local politics as well.

Have you kept up on a state, congressional and city candidates? Do you know what judges to vote for who are in keeping with your values? Are there issues such as a school levy or a bond issue?

I think there’s value in remembering the phrase “all politics is local.”

One of the best resources for local elections is the League of Women Voters. Its national website will lead you to your local website where you can find information about your local election candidates and issues.

Consider carefully your choice for this presidential election but make sure you do not neglect valuable local faithful citizenship issues.
