What Can You Do in 72 Days?

What Can You Do in 72 Days?

In case you haven’t heard, reality-TV celebrity Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from her husband, Kris Humphries, after 72 whole days of marriage.

Aside from making me feel good about nearing my own five-year anniversary, this news got me to thinking: What can we do with a little commitment in 72 days?

In the same amount of time as a Hollywood pseudo-marriage, what could we all accomplish with little more work than Kim and Kris put into their, ahem, lifelong commitment?

With minimal effort, what good could you do for the world in 72 days?

What change could you cause? What change could you be?

What could you learn, or teach?

How could you create the Kingdom of God on Earth?

Take a moment to think about it and please share you responses here. Let’s come up with 72 great ideas!

This news came the same week as a couple in my parish celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary! Our pastor blessed the couple, their sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at Mass on Sunday. Perhaps the reason this couple’s marriage has lasted 60 years is the fact that they pray together and with their family. They walk the talk.
