Conversing with Collin Raye

Conversing with Collin Raye

A fan of all genres of music, including country, I was excited when I heard last week that country singer Collin Raye was going to be paying a visit to our offices here in Cincinnati. As an added bonus, I found out that I would have the opportunity to interview him for an upcoming article in St. Anthony Messenger. I dug into my research and discovered that this singer, who I have listened to since I was in college, has a lot more to offer than his amazing voice. He just released a new album, Through it All, His Love Remains, which features two new songs and well-known inspirational songs, such as “Here I Am, Lord.”

I spoke with Collin for about an hour about things from his music, to his new role as spokesman for the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network formed by Terri’s family, to his beloved granddaughter Haley, who passed away last April from an undiagnosed neurological condition. Before the interview, Collin graciously greeted anyone who wanted to meet him, and afterward stuck around to take photos with our staff.

As a writer, there are some interviews that really strike a chord with me. This was one of them. Be on the lookout for the upcoming article in St. Anthony Messenger and video excerpts from Collin and my  interview at AmericanCatholic.org. I’m sure you’ll find him as inspirational as I did.
