Thank You, Justin Bieber

Thank You, Justin Bieber

Whenever I’m driving in the car with my kids, I feel like I spend a lot of time monitoring the songs on the radio for inappropriate messages or language. Sometimes it seems like a neverending job. And as a busy mom of four, that’s the last thing I need to be spending my time doing.

That’s why I was pleasantly surprised the other day when I heard the song   “Pray” by Justin Bieber on the radio. Now I’ll admit it. I have never quite understood the uproar over this young man. In fact, until recently I had never heard one of his songs. But I was pleasantly surprised when I heard this latest song. The message is one I can get behind and play in front of my kids without being on high alert. It seems those moments are few and far between these days.

Not long after hearing the song, I read this article about the teen pop sensation and his mom. It was a refreshing read, and I have to admit opened my mind a little more to the whole Justin Bieber phenomena. So this mom, a former unbeliever, must now confess to having just a little bit of “Bieber fever.”

Justin is also pro-life! He talked about this in a recent interview in Rolling Stone Magazine. Initially, “Rolling Stone” edited his comments… but Justin’s staffers insisted that “Rolling Stone” publish his exact words.

I was getting final plans together for a Confirmation Lesson to night on Prayer. And God led me to this article and Justin’s song…I am definitely going to use this song in some way tonight!

Susan, your blog piqued my curiosity of someone I’ve never had an interest in hearing. So, I listened and watched his powerful & moving video on YouTube. Very nice! Let’s hope he is a positive influence in the lives of others and “PRAY” that Hollywood doesn’t get the best of him! Thanks for your blog!
